Standard state control. (Contrôle d’état standard.) (French) Zbl 0967.93001

Paris: Hermès. 123 p. (2000).
The book offers a comprehensive material for the analysis and design of continuous-time systems whose dynamics is described by linear state-space models. It is written on a level suitable for students, but it can serve as a self-study text for practitioners interested in becoming familiar with the basic priniciples of standard state-space control. The book develops an original point of view for the presentation of the theoretical background and provides detailed comments for several complex case studies, facts which recommend it also to educators, as a support for upgrading lecture notes and laboratory lessons. The volume is organized in eight chapters (1. Introduction; 2. Approaching the conception of standard models; 3. Theoretical elements; 4. Standard state-space controllers; 5. Guide for practical works: standard state-space control of a double integrator; 6. Guide for practical works: application of standard state-space control to a heating system; 7. Example problems and solutions; 8. Conclusion) and includes an appendix with two new MATLAB functions (allowing the computation of a partial grammian and of the matrices requested by the asymptotic rejection procedure, respectively).
