Discretization on unstructured grids for inhomogeneous, anisotropic media. II: Discussion and numerical results. (English) Zbl 0951.65082

Discretization methods developed in part I [ibid. 19, No. 5, 1700-1716 (1998; reviewed above)] for conservation laws with a flux defined by the gradient law are investigated. Namely, positivity conditions of transmissibilities associated with cell interfaces are obtained. Two different transformations are intruduced in order to modify and to adjust the initial grid with account of anisotropy. Numerical examples are given and the developed approaches are compared.
