Summary: A class of autonomous systems that possess an invariant affine manifold is considered. Such systems have as concrete examples many biologically important systems. Sufficient conditions for the orbital stability of periodic solutions and for the nonexistence of simple closed invariant curves on the invariant manifold are derived.
