Math. 8, 1-47 (1998). The aim of the paper is to give a suitable generalization of Dirichlet forms, in particular to a nonlinear framework adapted to deal with harmonic maps. To have such a type of generalization, the central point is that the target space is no longer \(R\) but a complete metric space. The relations with the associated semigroup and the convergence properties of generalized Dirichlet forms are carefully investigated in the general framework.For the entire collection see [Zbl 0899.00031].
