The author proves a strong convergence result for a nonexpansive nonself-mapping with inward condition in a uniformly smooth Banach space. This extends a previous theorem by {\it S. Reich} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 75, 287-292 (1980; Zbl 0437.47047)].
