Zwonek, Włodzimierz Carathéodory balls in convex complex ellipsoids. (English) Zbl 0864.32017 Ann. Pol. Math. 64, No. 2, 183-194 (1996). Folgende Frage wird studiert: welche Carathéodory Kugeln eines konvexen komplexen Ellipsoiden \({\mathcal E}(p) = \{z\in \mathbb{C}^n:\;|z_1|^{2p_1}+\cdots +|z_n|^{2p_n} < 1\}\), \(p_j\geq\frac12\), haben die Gestalt von \({\mathcal E}(p)\)? Diese Frage wurde zuvor schon für die Spezialfälle \(p_1=\cdots=p_n =1\) von W. Rudin (1980), \(n=2\) und \(p_1=p_2=\frac 12\) von B. Schwarz (1993), \(n\) beliebig und \(p_1=\cdots=p_n=\frac 12\) von U. Srebro (1995) und von dem Autor (1995), \(2p_1=\cdots= 2p_n=:q>0\), \(q\notin 2\mathbb{Z}\), von B. Schwarz und U. Srebro beantwortet. Der hier behandelte allgemeine Fall liefert das alte Ergebnis, sofern alle \(p_j\) von 1 verschieden sind, d. h. das Zentrum solcher Carathéodory Kugeln kann nur der Ursprung sein. Für \(n=2\), \(p_1=\frac12\), \(p_2=1\) gibt es allerdings auch andere solcher Carathéodory Kugeln.Grundlage für den Beweis ist die genaue Beschreibung der komplexen Geodätischen für \({\mathcal E}(p)\) [vgl. M. Jarnicki und der Referent, Invariant distances and metrics in complex analysis (1993; Zbl 0789.32001)].
