Completeness of compact Lorentz manifolds admitting a timelike conformal Killing vector field. (English)

It is proved that every compact Lorentz manifold admitting a timelike Killing vector field is geodesically complete. It is widely extended a recent result of {\it Y. Kamishima} [J. Differ. Geom. 37, No. 3, 569-601 (1993; Zbl 0792.53061).
