Dieser Aufsatz soll einen Beitrag zur Klärung der Überlieferungslage des arabischen Euklid leisten. Er stützt sich vornehmlich auf das Manuskript Persan 169 (P) der Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris. Es enthält auf den Folien \(102^ b - 104^ b\) ein bis auf die Definitionen und Beweise vollständiges Buch II der Elemente in arabischer Übersetzung. Eine Zuweisung an einen Übersetzer liegt nicht vor. Die Verfasserin hat den arabischen Text ediert und ins Deutsche übersetzt, die Identität mit Glossen in Leiden 399,1 und für einen Fall mit einem Zitat in MS Oxford Marsh 720 nachgewiesen, seine charakteristischen Eigenschaften bestimmt sowie seine Identifikation als Text der Ḥağğāğ-Überlieferung diskutiert. P hat sich somit als das erste uns momentan bekannte zusammenhängende Fragment der Arbeit von al-Ḥağğāğ an den Elementen oder als eine damit eng verbundene Form erwiesen. Die Hypothese, daß P ein Abkömmling der Ḥağğāğ- Version II ist, erscheint recht plausibel.
