Jones, Don A.; Titi, Edriss S. Upper bounds on the number of determining modes, nodes, and volume elements for the Navier-Stokes equations. (English) Zbl 0796.35128 Indiana Univ. Math. J. 42, No. 3, 875-887 (1993). We present improved upper bounds on the number of determining Fourier modes, determining nodes and volume elements for the Navier-Stokes equations. The bounds presented here seem to agree with some of the heuristic physical estimates conjectured by Manley and Treve.
