Demmel, James W.; Heath, Michael T.; van der Vorst, Henk A. Parallel numerical linear algebra. (English) Zbl 0793.65011 Iserles, A. (ed.), Acta Numerica 1993. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 111-197 (1993). The authors give a nice introduction to parallel computing and illustrate the important issues by examples taken from linear algebra. Parallel algorithms and their implementations for solving linear equations (direct and iterative methods), eigenproblems, least squares and singular value decomposition are presented. This article gives an overview of the state of the art in parallel numerical linear algebra and contains a long list of references. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0777.00039].
