Wavelet-like bases for the fast solution of second-kind integral equations.

For the sparse representation of discretizations of integral equations a class of vector-space bases is introduced. These bases are applied to the numerical solution of second kind integral equations with logarithmic kernel. The given method is illustrated by numerical results.
