Woźnicki, Z. I. Estimation of the optimum relaxation factors in partial factorization iterative methods. (English) Zbl 0767.65025 SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 14, No. 1, 59-73 (1993). A new method is presented for estimating the optimal relaxation factors in both single and double successive overrelaxation processes. The theoretical results are applied for the solution of large-scale sparse linear systems arising in the difference approximation of elliptic partial differential equations.
