Convexity preserving piecewise rational interpolation for planar curves. (English)

A $C\sp 1$ piecewise rational cubic Hermite interpolant with one shape parameter is used to present a $C\sp 1$ convexity preserving plane curve method. This provides an extension of the corresponding results by {\it R. Delbourgo} and {\it J. A. Gregory} [SIAM J. Sci. Stat. Comput 6, 967- 976 (1985; Zbl 0586.65006)].
