Aiello, Walter G.; Freedman, H. I.; Wu, J. Analysis of a model representing stage-structured population growth with state-dependent time delay. (English) Zbl 0760.92018 SIAM J. Appl. Math. 52, No. 3, 855-869 (1992). The authors study a model of stage-structured population growth where the age to maturity is itself state dependent. It is found that there always exists a positive equilibrium but, unlike the constant delay case, this equilibrium may not be unique. Criteria for the uniqueness of the equilibria are obtained and the stability of the equilibria is also discussed.
