Jones, D. S. An improved surface radiation condition. (English) Zbl 0758.35074 IMA J. Appl. Math. 48, No. 2, 163-193 (1992). Summary: A new three-dimensional surface radiation condition is derived which has the advantage over previous ones of going over, in two dimensions, to the most accurate ones known. It is tested against exact results for a penetrable sphere in a variety of circumstances and found to perform well over a wide range of parameters. An additional approximation is introduced which enables a simplified approach to scattering by a highly absorbing target.
