A direct inexpensive constructive method for interpolating convex monotonic data by shape-preserving \(C^ 2\) cubic polynomial splines is proposed. Whenever the corresponding polyhedron in \(R^ 2\) is nonempty, the method determines the two free parameters that occur in the classical cubic spline interpolation problem in such a way that the shape preserving conditions are ensured.
