Pakes, Anthony G.
An infinite alleles version of the Markov branching process.
(English)
[J] J. Aust. Math. Soc., Ser. A 46, No.1, 146-169 (1989). ISSN 0263-6115

Individuals in a population which grows in accord with a continuous-time Markov branching process are allowed to mutate into new allelic forms. Results on the time of last mutation and on the frequency spectrum are obtained. These results sharpen corresponding known discrete time results and answer some questions still unresolved in the discrete time case. Supercritical, subcritical, and critical cases are shown to exhibit different asymptotic properties.
