Weder, R. Spectral and scattering theory in deformed optical wave guides. (English) Zbl 0644.35080 J. Reine Angew. Math. 390, 130-169 (1988). We study electromagnetic wave propagation in three dimensional deformed wave guides as a multichannel problem for the vector Maxwell equations, the unperturbed reference system being the perfect wave guide. We prove the limiting absorption principle in the deformed case including the thresholds (cut off frequencies), and construct a complete rigorous scattering theory.
