Dynamical evolution of elasto-perfectly plastic bodies. (English) Zbl 0616.73047

The authors prove the existence of a displacement field u(x,t) and of a stress field \(\sigma\) (x,t) that satisfy the dynamical equation for continuous media with suitable initial and boundary conditions, and that also satisfy the Prandtl-Reuss constitutive law for elasto-perfect plasticity. They also study the dynamics problem for a body subject to a constitutive law of elasto-plastic type with viscosity and obtain an estimate, independent of the viscosity coefficient, on their solutions.
