Die Autoren berechnen die Kettenbruchentwicklung von \(\sqrt{M}\) für folgende Werte von \(M:\) \[ M=[2a(4a-1)^ k\pm a]^ 2\mp 2a(4a-1)^ k;\quad M=[a(4a-1)^ k\pm a]^ 2\mp a(4a-1)^ k; \]\[ M=[a(4a^ 2- 1)^ k\pm a]^ 2\mp (4a^ 2-1);\quad M=(2^ k\pm 3)^ 2-8;\quad M=(2^ k\pm 1)^ 2+8. \] Ist M quadratfrei, so wird auch die Grundeinheit \(\epsilon_ M\) von \({\mathbb{Q}}(\sqrt{M})\) berechnet; diese ist in allen Fällen von der Größenordnung \(\log \epsilon_ M\sim (\log M)^ 2,\) also größer als die Einheiten vom Degertschen Typ, aber nicht so groß wie die von Y. Yamamoto gefundene [Osaka J. Math. 8, 261-270 (1971; Zbl 0243.12001)].
