Sudbury, Aidan The proportion of the population never hearing a rumour. (English) Zbl 0578.92025 J. Appl. Probab. 22, 443-446 (1985). Summary: For a model of a rumour, first given a non-rigorous treatment by D. P. Maki and M. Thompson [Mathematical models and applications. (1973)], it is shown that the proportion of the population never hearing the rumour converges in probability to 0.203 as the population size tends to \(\infty\).
