Points extrémaux dans un monoïde affine semitopologique. (Extremal points in an affine semitopological monoid). (French) Zbl 0576.22004

Sei S ein affines semitopologisches kompaktes Monoid (d.h. eine konvexe kompakte Teilmenge eines Hausdorffschen lokal konvexen topologischen Vektorraums zusammen mit einer Multiplikation, durch die S zu einer Halbgruppe mit Einselement wird, so daß für jedes \(s\in S\) die Abbildungen \(S\to S\), \(t\mapsto st\) und \(S\to S\), \(t\mapsto ts\) stetig und affin sind.
Es werden folgende Aussagen bewiesen: (1) Ist S die abgeschlossene konvexe Hülle der linksinvertierbaren Elemente von S, so ist jedes \(s\in S\) Extremalpunkt von sS und von Ss. (2) Ist jedes \(s\in S\) Extremalpunkt von sS und von Ss, so ist der Kern einer jeden kompakten (nicht leeren) Unterhalbgruppe von S eine kompakte topologische Gruppe. Faßt man beide Aussagen zusammen, so ergibt sich insbesondere: Ist S die abgeschlossene konvexe Hülle der linksinvertierbaren Elemente von S, so besteht der Kern von S aus einem Punkt (d.h. S hat ein Nullelement).
