Extensions of an elementary geometric inequality. (English) Zbl 0563.51023

Durch Diskussion von Funktionalgleichungen werden Ungleichungen der Ebenen und der räumlichen Geometrie bewiesen, die von folgendem Typ sind. Sei k der Graph einer geraden und für \(x>0\) monoton wachsenden Funktion \(x\to f(x)\), ferner D ein Punkt der y-Achse; bestimme alle zulässigen Funktionen f, für die gilt: Die Länge der x-parallelen Sehne von k durch D ist kleiner als der Normalriß in der x-Achse jeder anderen Sehne von k durch D.
