Narukawa, Kimiaki Boundary value control of thermoelastic systems. (English) Zbl 0531.73012 Hiroshima Math. J. 13, 227-272 (1983). One considers the problem of controlling the deformation of the medium of applying traction forces on the boundary. Basically, we have a distributed parameter system with boundary control. The exact controllability is investigated, as well as the admissible controllability with constrained controls. The framework is that one of functional analysis existence lemmata is stated and controllability conditions are given. The mechanical assumptions are the following: tractions forces are applied on the boundary and the resulting deformations on the boundary cause forces proportional to the strain.
