Sci. 26, No. 10, 635-641 (2001). The paper contains a collection of coincidence as well as common fixed point theorems for single-valued compatible mappings satisfying a certain generalized contraction type condition. In the second part, the authors deal with coincidence points for multivalued mappings with values in the class of closed bounded subsets of a given Banach space. In contrast to H. Kaneko and S. Sessa [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci., 12, 257-262 (1989; Zbl 0671.54023), Theorem 2], the continuity of the involved maps is not assumed. This fact is illustrated by a suitable example.
