Lee, Gyemin; Jeon, Jongwoo Analysis of an N/G/1 finite queue with the supplementary variable method. (English) Zbl 0966.60096 J. Appl. Math. Stochastic Anal. 12, No. 4, 429-434 (1999). For an N/G/1 finite queueing system, the joint stationary distribution of the queue length and the elapsed waiting time is derived. This yields a new formula for the queue length distribution which the authors claim to have computational advantages over the formula by C. Blondia [Commun. Stat., Stochastic Models 5, No. 2, 273-294 (1989; Zbl 0673.60102)].
