Organizational Aspects of the Reviewing Task
Time
Prompt publication of reviews enhances their usefulness. It should be possible to review a paper within eight weeks.
Assignment of Reviews
When assigning reviews to you, we try to meet your fields of interest. If you do not want to review a particular paper, please return it immediately. with a short comment. In case we are sending too many papers or articles outside your field of interest, please notify us accordingly so that we can correct our files.
Literature
The editor of Zentralblatt needs your support in recieving the mathematics literature worldwide. Although we do check publisher´s lists and other sources and all the references carefully there may be some material missing that should be recorded in Zentralblatt and which you are aware of. Please do not hesitate to send us a note giving details or provide us with a copy (which is highly appreciated and will be sent back if stated).
Copyright
The reviewer transfers onto FIZ-Karlsruhe all exclusive exploitation rights relating to the reviews of Zentralblatt MATH in printed or electronical form as well as the right for adaptation of delivered reviews, these rights worldwide and for an indefinite period of time. The editor of Zentralblatt is entitled to assigning these rights to third persons or to grant non-exclusive rights.
Storage of personal Data
We notify that we store your address and your fields of interest electronically. These Data are used exclusivly by the editorial office in connection with your task as reviewer for Zentralblatt.
Change of address
Please inform us early and as precisely as possible of any changes of address and/or if you wish to be relieved of writing reviews for a particular period. This change should be made preferably via email to: editor@zentralblatt-math.org.
International editorial units
In the course of transforming the editorial activities of Zentralblatt to an international enterprise we installed a Chinese editorial unit in the middle of 2007. This extended the list of already existing partners in Belgrade, Bratislava, Bucharest, Debrecen, Lecce, Novosibirsk, Prague and Sofia. All these partners contribute to a distributed input system for a database in mathematics, which provides full search facilities and should be available world-wide as the most comprehensive source for information on mathematical literature. The Chinese partner for this network is located at the Library of the Chinese Academy of Science (LCAS) as well as National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences and will care about the majority of the journals published in China.
This is to bring this extension to your attention hoping that you will not object to collaborate with us in this enlarged framework. The only change which will be noticed by you is that in some cases you will receive material for reviewing from this new cooperation site. In particular reviewers with reading capability in Chinese will be contacted by LCAS more frequently than by us, because the Chinese literature will be handled by them. But we shall manage this in a way that your reviewing load will not be more than previously in the average, and we will keep an eye on occupying you also with papers in other languages unless you want to handle Chinese papers exclusively. All your reviewers privileges will be preserved, the small royalties you get per review included.
