Zentralblatt reviewers are invited to join the
European Mathematical Society (EMS).

Individual membership of EMS is open to all individuals who make a contribution to European Mathematics.

EMS-membership for members of national societies

Membership in the EMS is organized by the 46 European mathematical societies and non-European societies with reciprocity agreement. Joining EMS as an individual member through an EMS member society just requires payment of the extra amount for EMS membership of 20 Euro when paying the regular membership fee.

EMS-membership for individuals - special Zentralblatt offer

In the case of countries where the national mathematical society is not a member of the EMS or where there are economical reasons which make the payment of the membership fee through the national society difficult, Zentralblatt may care about this payment from the credit of your reviewer's account. The rates for the fee under these special conditions for reviewers of Zentralblatt are:

22 EURO for persons belonging to an EMS member society.
44 EURO for reviewers living in a country with no member society (reduced from 80 EURO) except for persons living in Eastern Europe in an area with no member society. Their fees are reduced to 22 EURO, by a temporary rule of EMS.

EMS-membership - direct individual application

You can also join EMS as an individual member directly, applying from the Secretary of the EMS. The application form can be retrieved from EMIS or from the EMS Secretariat. (Email: riitta.ulmanen@helsinki.fi).
In this case the membership fee is higher due to the additional costs to EMS.
