E-mail Submission
Guide for E-mail Submission of reviews
This guide contains instructions for preparing and electronically submitting correspondence and reviews to Zentralblatt MATH. The Editors of Zentralblatt MATH invite reviewers to submit reviews and related correspondence by e-mail to the following addresses:
| Correspondence: | editor@zentralblatt-math.org |
| Reviews only: | zbl@zentralblatt-math.org |
In order to facilitate the treatment of your correspondence (such as change of address, fields of interest etc.) we kindly ask you to send it only to the first address, excluding reviews of papers, for which we have installed an extra mailbox.
Acknowledgements
All messages and reviews sent electronically will be acknowledged electronically upon receipt. Please supply any information you think may be helpful in replying electronically. If you do not receive an acknowledgement one week after submission, assume that the message did not reach the editorial office of Zentralblatt MATH. Please wait and do not send your messages for a second time before, because it takes much work to eliminate double mail. The same applies to hardcopies of electronic mail. Please send an additional hardcopy only in case you are sure that your electronic mail did not reach our office.
Guidelines
For the preparation of reviews please follow these guidelines which will provide you with a "skeleton" of the structure of reviews.
Mathematical typesetting
Review texts sent electronically should be plain TeX source files which only use the AMSTeX macro package. Please do not use own definitions and macros. If you are not familiar with TeX coding please use the data flags for a minimum of compatibility and for the detection of our programs.
Example
The standard format for a review text file using TeX encoding is best understood
from an easy example.
| Data flags | Sample | Description |
| \beginrev | necessary to detect the beginning of a review | |
| \reviewer | A. A. Smith | Reviewer's name |
| \reviewernum | 01234 | 5-digit reviewer number, also possible in ( ) behind reviewer's name |
| \address | reviewer's address | |
| \zblno | DE000393712 | The internal item identification number |
| \author | Brauer, H. | author(s) of the paper |
| \shorttitle | Recent results on oscillatory solutions of ... | abbreviated title |
| \source | J. Differ. Equat. 35, No.3, 15-35 (1992) | source (journal, conference, publisher etc.) |
| \class | 34-02;34C10;30A30 | classification codes (please use MSC2000) only ranked by the order of the items |
| \rpclass | 34-02 | primary classification codes (if you want to specify) |
| \rsclass | 34C10;34A30 | secondary classification codes |
| \keywords | third order linear differential equation; (for use in the database) singular oscillators | English keywords |
| \revtext | The author investigates sufficient conditions for the existence of oscillatory solutions of equations of the form $$u''' + p_1(t)u'' + p_2(t)u'' +p_3(t)u = 0.$$ \par This interesting survey includes recent results on oscillatory solutions. It is a continuation of the article by K.-H. Mayer [J. Oscillation 136, No.5, 35-102 (1987; Zbl. ..................). \par Reviewers remark: |
begin of the review text - paragraphs should be marked explicitely with the TeX-Code "\par" |
| \remarks | messages to the editors only. Please include remarks concerning the content of the paper in the \revtext field. | |
| \endrev | closes your review |
Blank form
Here is a blank form zmath-form.txt to be filled.
TeX-Macro
\input zmath-macro.tex to get proofsheets from your TeX-encoded review with Zbl's data flags.
Completeness
Electronically submitted reviews will be marked automatically as "e-mail" for the editors of Zbl. Please be aware that the editor has no hardcopy of the paper because it remains on your desk. So it is necessary to type in all the text (including references and those parts of the paper which you want to quote).
