Summary: This paper aims at continuing the process of historical and academic GEPEM written in Bulletins 39 and 48. Firstly we recognize tribute to the teachers Maria Laura Mouzinho Leite Lopes, Estela Kaufman Fainguelernt, Franca Cohen Gottlieb and Moema Lavinia Mariane de Sá Carvalho, present at GEPEM General Assembly creation and the memebers of their first board of directros. Our methodological tools were Bulletin GEPEM publications, digital articles, testimonials and photographs. Secondly, we mapped and marked categories of analysis about the articles and reports published in Bulletins 49 to 56 to use the same theories used in Oliveira et al. (2006). We finish the paper presenting the Board of directors’ proposal for the biennium 2011-2013. We verified that the growth and professionalization of mathematics education in recent years are related to research lines in academic production of these educators.
