ab: Summary: In this article we give several examples of how to make use of
    applets for mathematics teaching and learning in general and studying
    functions in particular. All the examples come from the Gauss Project
    at the Educational Technologies Institute, which makes them accessible
    to everyone interested. Each example includes a relevant aspect for
    working with applets, as well as some thoughts on their use. We stress
    the role of our own actions and the key support offered by constant
    feedback in a visual, dynamic and interactive setting.
