(1978; Zbl 0398.90090)] suggested a descent method which combines a quasi-Newton method using a quadratic model with a generalized cutting plane idea. For this method we put a version into practice, which is slightly different from the original algorithm. This version has been encoded as a FORTRAN 77 program and tested for some examples on an MC68000 computer. The results show that the code is reliable. The aim of this paper is to describe briefly our version and to provide some results of testing. rv:
