Generalized Chebyshev distance and fuzzy statistical description. (Distance de Tchebytchev généralisée et description statistique floue.) (French)
IMHOTEP, J. Afr. Math. Pures Appl. 3, No. 1, 43-75 (2000).
From the text: The author introduces the generalized Chebyshev distance, denoted by $d(E,F)$, of two fuzzy sets $E$ and $F$ by $d(E,F):=\bigvee\sb {ω\in Ω} \vert 1\sb E(ω) - 1\sb F(ω)\vert$, where $1\sb E$ and $1\sb F$ are membership functions of $E$ and $F$, respectively. Basic properties are studied and then a system of these distances is applied to obtain a qualitative evaluation of fuzzy operators.
