In this work the energy of a nanotorus and that of a (3,6)-fullerene are computed by using a result of {\it P. E. John} and {\it H. Sachs} [``Spectra of toroidal graphs,'' Discrete Math. 309, No. 9, 2663--2681 (2009; Zbl 1204.05055)].</ab>
