Techniques of building up alternative structure programs. (Tehnici de construire a programelor cu structuri alternative). (Romanian)
Bucureşti: Editura Academiei Republicii Socialiste România. 295 p. (1981).
This book is a synthetic overview on information systems based on the decision table technique. The first chapter analyzes the decision as a management attribute, the decisional modules and the decision tables are defined. The use of decisional modules in the design of information systems is studied in the second chapter. The third part of the book is concerned with various types of decision tables: tables with restricted/unrestricted input, tables with extended input. Methods and algorithms for reducing the decision tables are given; the minimality problem is studied. The fourth chapter analyzes the conversion of the decision tables for a given procedure, into algorithms represented as flow-charts; both the analytic and the matricial conversion methods are presented; the well- known algorithms of Pollak and Kirk are included. The fifth part contains the description of pre-compilators which translate decision tables into program-segments in well-known programming languages (FORTRAN, COBOL). The DLT-FELIX pre-compilator (conceived by the authors) is described at large. The book contains many illustrative computer examples, technical data and applications.
