Three experiments were conducted after pilot teaching and a pretext, in which two meanings of each word (totally 30 words) were offered to the EG and CG respectively through the proposed approach and traditional approach, then subjects received a post test and a one-week delayed test after each experiment. Subsequently an interview was held about practicality and interestingness of the vocabulary teaching method. Qualitative analyses (spss15.0 was used) indicate that there is significant difference between the t-test mean scores of EG and those of CG. The results of interview show that most subjects in EG think the proposed approach is feasible and interest-motivating, because metaphor offers them clues in word recollection. rv:
