Solutions based on modeling/metamodeling can be used for such systems, but all of them are afflicted with different drawbacks. The main problem is that elements representing both CLAsses and oBJECTs (clabjects), which are needed to specify an ontological hierarchy, are not supported by standard metamodeling frameworks. This paper presents the combination of two approaches, namely deep instantiation and model-to-metamodel transformations. The resulting approach combines the clean and compact specification of deep instantiation with the easy applicability of model-to-metamodel transformations in an automated way. Along with this a set of generic operators to specify these transformations is identified. rv:
