Multivariable structure of fuzzy control systems. (English)
IEEE Trans. Syst. Man Cybern. 16, 638-656 (1986).
Application of fuzzy set theory to the design of control systems has led to interest in the description of multivariable fuzzy systems. The authors present an idea for the solution of multivariable fuzzy equations by decomposition of a multivariable fuzzy system into a set of one- dimensional systems. The authors use the block diagram representation of a multivariable fuzzy system which allows the overall block diagram for the entire system to be easily constructed by merely connecting the blocks of the components according to the set of fuzzy equations. One can also evaluate the contribution of each component to the overall performance of the system. The block diagram, being a graphical representation of the sequence of operations, can be easily converted into a computer program, which allows one to perform any analysis and synthesis on a computer. Fuzzy model and fuzzy controllers of a two-interconnected tank liquid- level system illustrate the given approach.
