The concept of negative support set of descriptors is proposed. Lower and upper approximations based on such negative support sets are presented and their properties are discussed. Moreover, an approach to acquire certain and credible negative rules by the proposed lower and upper approximate is presented. To facilitate application, an approach using a discernibility matrix is proposed to obtain a reduction, and illustrative examples show the effectiveness of the approach. rv:
