Summary: In this paper, a network design optimization model is established by introducing difference market response-time variables, and considering the influences of the response time on the sale income and total supply chain costs. It is shown by examples that the marginal contributions of the response time needed by different market customers to the value of supply chain have a visible difference, and the net work design should begin with the overall supply system and balance the response-ability and the level of profit.
