The macroconveyor method of data processing consists in the decomposition of the structure being processed into large weakly dependent substructures with a program variation of their volumes; the availability of a continuous parallel program-controlled data flow from one substructures to others; the minimization of data exchange between the substructures; the serial-parallel processing so that the serial processing, when solving the problem, is combined with the parallel data processing in the substructures. The macroconveyor computations can be realized on multiprocessor systems with suitable structural and architectural organization including a peripheral computer, a multiprocessor and intellectual consoles. The multiprocessor comprises arithmetic, control and communication processors, whose characteristics are listed. The system software components are described, i.e. the concordant family of macroconveyor languages and programming systems, the distributed operation system, the language and program support of the peripheral computer and intellectual consoles. The macroconveyor system belongs to the class of multiprocessors and possesses such important advantages as the flexibility of the computing process organization, the availability of multiple programs, the modularity, the hierarchical nature, the reconfigurability, the reliability of computations, etc. \itemrv{G.E.Tseytlin} \itemcc{} \itemut{macroconveyor parallel computations; multiprocessor systems} \itemli{} \end
