Since exact controllability is equivalent to the surjectivity of the input $\to$ solution operator (denoted, say, by L), the technique is to prove that $L\sp*$ has a continuous inverse. As the author says in the introduction, the results of this paper are part of joint work with I. Lasiecka and J. L. Lions.},
