    abstract     = {Summary: A deteriorating simple repairable system is studied. The decreasing $\alpha$-series process to model its successive working times and increasing geometric process to model its consecutive repair times are asserted. The average cost rate of the system is given under the policy $N$, and the optimal replacement policy is derived analytically or numerically. A numerical example is provided, and some discussions and sensitivity analysis of the model are carried out.},
