<ab>The authors analyze several transformations for the solution of the quadratic two-parameter eigenvalue problem (QMEP). They are based either on the linearization of the QMEP as a singular two-parameter eigenvalue problem or on replacing all nonlinear terms by new variables and adding new equations for their relations. Numerical experiments are also presented on some model problems.</ab>
