<ab>Due to the hierarchical structure of context-free languages the task of parallelizing parsing is difficult and causes heavy communication efforts. The concept of local parsable languages is a new approach to tackle these problems. It covers those sublanguages that can be recognized without knowing the left context. Some properties and criteria of local parsability and the sketch of a parallel parsing scheme with arbitrary partitioning of the source text are given. However, the method presented applies for a subclass of cf-languages including most programming ones.</ab>
