It has been proved that the center-buffer-based ATM switch has better performance under the identical memory size. The paper states the way to multicast cells and illustrates how to solve the collision between multicast and unicast in a switching system. It provides a new solution for multicasting cells, avoiding cell loss, and reducing cell delay, which is called single write and single read with output-buffer and output-mask.
