This interesting text addresses the important boundary element difficulty of dealing with body forces and general nonlinear domain contributions via boundary integrals only. The approach is based on a Fourier series expansion for the domain of functions (these can be general body forces or nonlinear terms such as inelastic strains) coupled with a term by term transformation into a series of boundary integrals. Potential and elasticity problems are discussed with emphasis on two-dimensional applications. The numerical aspects of the procedure are sufficiently clear and illustrate the generality of the idea for engineering problems.
